What Do You Want, Lord?

What do you want, Lord?
For me to pray every day
When I don’t know what to say?
What do you want, Lord?
For me to give to the poor
Because I have more than they?
What do you want, Lord?
A renunciation from sin
So my life can begin?
What do you want, Lord?
For me to make amends
And make closer friends?
What do you want, Lord?
For my deep and true devotion
Without the faintest notion
Of what it takes to be your faithful servant?
What do you want, Lord?
Do you want me all to yourself,
or to share a life with someone else?
I don’t know yet but I know I have peace
I don’t know yet but I know you’re with me
