Thunderstorms of Life

Ominous clouds

You bring great fright,

Turning sunlight into night

But onward you go,

Moved by winds forceful flow,

Leaving behind a greyish glow.

Birds wing aloft.

Startled at first,

Fearful of coming watery burst.

Frightful thunder

Softens, turns to calm,

Bringing down peaceful balm.

Black turns to grey

Then patches of blue

Allow bright sunlight shine anew.

Image of life

Turning night into day

With nature, God’s grace shining the way.

Picture of hope.

Salvation from sin.

God’s ever love wheeling us in.

Clouds ever moving

New threats are soon born

Yet nothing now from God can be torn.

Above the clouds

Powerful sun shining bright

Dissipates the ominous night

Opening to all glorious light.

Jesus is Sun

Whose cross brings relief

To suffering sinners living in grief.

No more anxiety,

No more fear,

God’s soul-curing love ever near.
