Separation of Soul

God did not make man to die

Instead, man subjects himself to death

Through which the body becomes unable to house the soul

Which then becomes lost and alone

In a great oblivion, with only God to save it.

Yet only in this oblivion,

Where life feels lost,

Does one learn what life is,

Only can one understand

That he can only be fulfilled by God

In this world full of false fulfilments

Which the flesh seeks, only to find itself empty.

True life is brought to light through this absence of matter

Because it is only God who provides true life

Then, placed back into the body,

The soul is exposed to a glimpse of its final destiny

To stand before the Trinitarian God

Context:

The writer reflects on his near-death experience during a medical emergency where he

experienced his soul being separated from his body and placed in an everlasting void, where

the only being present was a Holy Flame of the Trinitarian God.
