Give Lie To The Liar

The Liar’s farce: that “God is far”

Give lie to this big lie

Refocus on “Immanuel”…

Who’s faithfully

And lovingly

Nearby

The Liar blares, “God doesn’t care”

Contest this wicked jest

Remember Him who wept much where…

They’d laid His friend

Named Lazarus

To rest

The Liar vents, “Your God’s against”

So “foul out” that foul creep

Discover Him Who’s always “for”…

Whose strength defends

And gently mends

His sheep

The Liar riles, “God never smiles”

Belie this common gaff

Recall the One Whom children loved…

Who liked to grin

To joke with kin

And laugh

The “father of fibs” can’t tell the truth (1)

His “native tongue” is lies

To learn who God is, look at Christ…

Who deftly beguiles

The beguiler’s wiles

And deafens

All his cries
