Suffocating on Myself

I have been suffocating on myself, breath tightly held, lungs barely breathing until I collapse from lack of oxygen — only then can your presence sink in. I have been running on empty, fighting for my life, heart racing, eyes glazing, body caving, exhausted in perpetual fight or flight — it's when I let go of control, no where else to go, that you rescue me from myself. Spirit of the Lord, breathe your breath into me. Calm my raging heart, ease my worried mind. Help me

Trisagion

two bowed to three praised fall crown to womb to right to left to kiss oil on wood on gold. Holy God, man and child whisper to silk scraps slipped, flicked. O, Theotokos, pray Holy Mighty, to glory-eyed seraphim, Eye of God, of Saint of Man chant: “Holy Immortal,” closed in prayer clothed in gold in oil in wood. “ have mercy on us!”

Not Yet Home

All she wanted was to hold You… So why send her away? She attended to Your Cross, While Your friends served You betrayal. So why subject this flower To a heartbreak beyond fat
